Rain Jacket

The breathable and waterproof Marmot Precip rain jacket is great. It’s affordable, it has pit zips for controlling ventilation, packs down nicely, and comes in lots of colors. I chose the dark grey because it was cheaper.

This thing is excellent for layering. For our winter trips to Victoria, British Columbia and London, England I packed and wore a long sleeved base layer, a T-shirt, a light weight hoodie, and when I needed to keep the cold out I’d throw this rain jacket on over everything else. For the limited packing space available, this was a good combination for me.
